Industry veteran Barry Meeks appointed to Rimbal Board

Rimbal is pleased to announce the appointment of Barry Meeks as an Independent Non-Executive Director. Barry will contribute to group governance and compliance matters and serve on the risk committee, as well as support the ValidPath IFA proposition and succession solution.

Industry veteran Barry is highly regarded in the UK mortgage, banking, IFA network and wider financial services sector, with over 30 years of experience.

Barry was previously Interim CEO at CAF Bank, COO at The Home & Savings Bank, CEO at The Pink / BDS Home Loans Group and CEO at Homeloan Management Ltd (now part of Computershare UK) among other senior positions.

His previous experience also includes being an Independent Non-Executive Director at Legal and General Home Finance Ltd, Nostrum Group, Vertex, Sutherland Mortgage Services and he was a Senior Independent Non-Executive Director at BFC Bank Ltd and IFA Network Tenet for over 9 years.

A Chartered Director and Fellow of the Institute of Directors, Barry is classified an Approved Person by both the PRA and FCA and designated under the Senior Managers Regime for SMF 10,11, and 14.

Angus MacNee, CEO, Rimbal ValidPath, said:

“As we expand our proposition and succession solution for independent financial advisers, Barry brings a wealth of experience to the board and group that will be invaluable.  It is rare to find someone like Barry that has the background in IFA Networks and the broader experience and expertise in financial services generally.  Barry is an industry veteran that has led a number of successful UK financial services businesses as an operator and also functioned as a senior independent director of major financial institutions.  He is aligned with our vision and welcome him to the team.”

Barry Meeks added:

“I have been particularly impressed at what Rimbal is building and how the ValidPath proposition supports independent financial advisers.  Technology and integrated systems are key, as is a clear purpose and focus on supporting IFAs and their clients.  Rimbal has a clear vision for ValidPath and a unique and differentiated value proposition for the market for which the succession solution as an alternative to IFA consolidators is one such example.  I recently stepped down from my last NED position and am delighted to be joining the Rimbal board and the ValidPath team.”
